Preparing a Proposal

Claim:  Female reality TV celebrities depict a negative stereotype of women.

Reasons: Ratings for a show are congruent to how ridiculous the actresses on the show are.  Hardly are the women seen as sensible and mature, but portray the image that they are gossip queens and shopaholics.  As well as, women on these shows are very rarely respected and are perceived to have little intelligence.

Warrants:
- Female vs. male reality shows
- How other celebrities act
- Shows popularity
- Actresses popularity within tabloids
- How much the stars get paid

This issue deserves attention because it is showing younger women that this behavior is becoming increasingly acceptable in today's society.

I hope to speak on women in general, but the women who share my opinion the most.

It's a broad subject and most people are aware of the negative impact these women are having, but treat them so insignificantly that it shouldn't matter.  Finding quantitative evidence might be difficult as well.

Watching the shows themselves.  Reading blogs and articles about the shows are the research I plan on doing.
