Preparing a Proposal

Claim: Fame has serious negative side effects, especially when it comes to male athletes.

Reasons: Fame can get to your head and even cause you to do crazy things. Young kids use male athletes as role models, but these very same "role models" are being found guilty with more crimes than ever before. Is the pressure causing them to hide these dirty secrets from fear of disapproval of the public? Or is the fame giving them the power to get away with wrongful acts?

Warrants: Male athletes are leaders and role models to people of all ages. A typical athletic role model has a clean record and is very genuine. A famous male athlete is someone other male athletes aspire to be like. Fame is intended to enrich your life. Average people would love the opportunity to be famous.

This issue deserves attention because it is becoming more prevalent, and male athletes continue to get away with more than the average human being. Also, it is common to associate fame ruining the lives of other sorts of celebrities such as actors, but somewhat neglected when referred to famous athletes.

I hope to reach anyone who is interested in sports, especially those who choose to ignore the wrong actions of athletes just because of who they are.

Some challenges may be making a strong enough argument on behalf of my case and/or finding evidence for it.

I will research athletes I am familiar with that will hopefully lead to other stories. I expect to consult some articles where people have felt the same as me maybe in other areas of celebrity, but then relate it to the athletic world.

I could do a conventional research essay format or a blog format would be fun!
