Parody is a literary composition imitating another work. It uses characteristic style/themes of a particular author or genre and satirizes them by applying them to inappropriate subjects for comic effect.
An example of parody in music is "White and Nerdy" a parody of Chamillionaire's "Ridin"

Chamillionaire is a popular rapper, and the song is originally intended to be something you'd hear low-riders blasting in their pimped out rides. The original lyrics "You see me rollin, they hatin, patrollin, they trying to catch me ridin dirty..." are replaced with lines describing a white and nerdy person. This is significant because "white and nerdy" is almost the complete opposite description of the intended audience of the song. All of the "gangsta" references are replaced with a references to someone of high intelligence. The comparison provides humor to an audience who is aware of the true nature of the song.

White and Nerdy:

"Look at me, I'm White and Nerdy
I wanna roll with
The gangstas
But so far they all think I'm too white and nerdy
