Jon Stewart Research

Katz, Howard. "No Joke: Jon Stewart Takes Aim at 24-Hour Cable News
'Beast.'" Washington Post. Washington Post, 26 Aug. 2008. Web. 29 Jan. 2011

ORIGINAL
Stewart, who is doing his nightly show from both conventions, declared his love for newspapers as a better source of political coverage but said they are fighting "a losing battle because they're getting overshadowed." He pronounced the network evening newscasts "obsolete" because of the growing speed of news.

PARAPHRASE
Stewart, who will broadcast his show from the Republican National Convention as well at the Democratic National Convention, believes that although a better representation of accurate political information, newspapers and evening network newcasts are falling behind cable news networks due to the ever increasing need for instant information and news coverage.
