Stars lose fight with cellulite

Star magazine is typically geared towards middle-aged women who are paying for their groceries and notice the shocking stories about their most loved and hated celebrities. The cover of this issue of Star is a story about female celebrities with cellulite, and their losing battle. The pictures are supposed to be shocking and make the reader feel negatively about the celebrities’ appearances.
The cover title, “Stars lose fight with CELLULITE”, is in the middle of the page with “cellulite” in all capital letters and the text is the largest on the page. The reader thinks right away that cellulite is something to be ashamed of and famous women are apparently fighting a war that they can’t win. There are a few pictures on the cover, two of them just being close up of different body parts with the caption that reads “guess who”, which leaves the reader wanting to know who is in that unflattering picture so they have to turn the page to find out. Also there are two pictures of the women jogging which argues that no matter how much they exercise, the cellulite will not go away and if there’s no hope for these famous women who have access to personal trainers and plastic surgeons, then the housewives that read this magazine should just give up hope.
