Brittany Spears has appeared in the spotlight a fair share of times, but recently has laid low. However, Spears’ new album is expected to debut on March 29, 2011. The kairos of this article is terrific. Although this article is a negative portrayal of the star, ist will bring Spears back into the eyes and mind of the public only weeks before her new album hits stores. The NE article may increase the sales of her new album, as it has fans wondering what Spears has been doing in the past few months and where her future will go.
This main argument of this article is that Britney Spears has been out of control the past few months and seems to be digging herself in a bigger hole. Despite the fact that the star is coming out with a new album and she has stayed out of the public eye, this article suggests that she is still struggling in aspects of her life that she has already been treated for.
The author of “Britney Flips out over Intervention!” makes its audience feel bad for Spears. By explaining in detail Spears’ eccentric actions, it forces readers to want the star to get help. The article explains how Spears cussed her family out and slammed a vase into the ground. As a reader, this makes one realize how unstable and unhappy the 29 year old is.
There is a photograph of Britney in her parent’s backyard with her two young boys, her boyfriend Jason, and her parents. Her arms are crossed and she mouth is wide open as if she is yelling. There is a zoomed in picture of her face of clarify that she in fact is screaming. The rest of her family is starring at her in utter disbelief. This image clearly suggests that Spears is out of control and not in a good place in her life. She appears lost and unhappy. The relationship between the text and the image matches perfectly, they both reveal a negative image of Spears.
The article is titled “Britney Flips Out Over Intervention.” The entire phrase is bold and in all capital letters. Underneath the title, there is a phrase in which the words “family, drug, booze, and psychiatrist” all appear. The entire headline is negative. It looks very dramatic, which lures readers to the article.
The logic in this article seems very judgmental. No credible sources are used. The information solely comes from a “source/s.” It never indicates who the source is or how he/she got the information. The “sources” reveals personal information about Spears, which does not all seem to be believable. Many of gossip magazines lack ethos.
This article makes Spears seem like an absolute mess. It makes the public wonder if she will ever be able to get her life on tract. Once she seems to be on the right tract, she gets involved in another public incident. Unfortunately, this article proves that yet again.
